More than just code.
I'm Berkay, a software engineer who enjoys building thoughtful digital products and understanding how things work, not only at the surface, but behind the scenes as well.
My background is primarily in frontend development with Vue, Nuxt and TypeScript, but curiosity pulled me further into backend development and software architecture. Today, I enjoy working across the stack, learning new technologies and finding simple solutions to complex problems.
02 / JOURNEY
How I got here.
I started my career on the frontend, drawn to the combination of engineering and visual problem solving. There was something satisfying about turning an idea into something people could actually see, use and interact with.
As I worked on larger applications, I became increasingly interested in everything happening beyond the interface, APIs, data models, authentication, architecture and the decisions that make software easier to maintain.
That curiosity led me to Java and Spring Boot, while at the same time I continued expanding my frontend perspective by exploring React and Next.js.
I don't see frontend and backend as completely separate worlds.
What interests me most is understanding how the pieces fit together to create a better product.

Outside of software, I stay active through boxing and training, and I like exploring new places/cities, coffee spots, anywhere worth a second look.
I'm usually reading something, and I write down thoughts and ideas as they come. Some of the best ones show up when I'm not actively looking for them.

What I'm exploring now.
Right now, I'm expanding my experience with React and Next.js while continuing to deepen my backend knowledge with Java and Spring Boot.
Mostly, I'm focused on becoming a better engineer, one project, problem and rabbit hole at a time.
